Breathing fire into your career

CV Solutions

Convincing narrative is an integral component of the CV, encouraging the recruiter to read on and find out more about the applicant. This model applies across all skill levels and for any job function – the point is to present your details in an interesting, well-articulated format with which you are comfortable and, therefore, confident. A good CV should help inspire you to believe in yourself and your capabilities. From here you can build on the other intrinsic elements that form a successful career.

Traditional formats tend to be skills or chronological led, though the two are often combined so that the recruiter is able to trace your career path in a logical order. A strong CV will be both factual and objective, in terms of qualifications and achievements. More subjective areas such as personality traits should be substantiated in some form throughout the CV. There is little point in describing yourself as a ‘leader’ if you have never organised or taken responsibility for a particular project where leadership skills would clearly be required.

Our service is likely to appeal, though is not limited to, three particular groups:

Professional

This group will inevitably have a broad base of skills and experience, invariably at a key management level. Presenting their details in a succinct, concise manner can be challenging due to the diverse range of skills they bring to the table. Our approach is to identify key strengths around which to build a skills profile, demonstrate methodologies employed, management style and business acumen. Likely to possess recognised, professional status within their chosen field, strong sense of direction and demonstrable goals already achieved.

Accelerated

Usually the largest group, early to mid stages of career with aspirations to progress or perhaps change career path completely. Identifying clear goals is a priority and demonstrating steps already undertaken to achieving such targets is essential. Qualification levels may vary, perhaps with some form of extra-curricular study undertaken to enhance their CV.

Elementary
Limited experience due to varying factors such as age or academic path. This group will be motivated though may lack a little confidence and be unsure of suitable career direction. As mentioned previously, if you have recently left education there are initiatives available to help usually at no cost. UK based candidates can visit www.connexions.gov.uk (England), www.careerswales.com or www.careers-scotland.org.uk for further details. If you still wish to utilise our service having explored non-fee based options we will be pleased to help you.
